The top two clubs came together, Walthamstow 0 1 Hashtag United thanks to Joshua Osude’s stoppage time goal. Even though it was still early in the season, opinion was that these to clubs would be in the mix at the end. Going into second place after their own game, Saffron Walden Town beat Takeley 3-2 Charlie Cole, George Pullen and Spike Bell all scored.

At the bottom end of the table, Southend Manor drew 1 1 with Sawbridgeworth Town, Jordan Chambers early second half penalty cancelled out by Sawbridgworth's Jake Skeets brilliant volley.

In the F A Vase 3rd Round our only club left, Stansted, did not have a happy visit to Stowmarket who beat them 4 0 in front of 429. The hosts were 3 0 up at the break.

Ali Al-Nashi received a pair of boots From League Chairman Lee Dorling for his involvement in a piece of Ilford footballing brilliance which was a hit on YouTube where he received over 200,000 views. An audacious backheel from Greg Akpele was also shown !

Hullbridge Sports donated kit to the “RAF FA Taking football to Africa and Beyond” Charity Appeal.

An interesting story taken from the Muratti Vase Centenary Book by Frank Cusack, appeared, regarding this competition between the Channel Islands teams which is either won by Jersey or Guernsey though, on one occasion in the 1920’s, Alderney took the plaudits ! The ESL connection was, that on Easter Monday 5th April 1920 at the Cycling Grounds in Guernsey, the local side played a Victory Cup match against Clapton and this was the first time a Guernsey side had played a team from the mainland !
