11.05.2013, Barkingside were still reeling from the shock the night before in the last game at Rush Green Arena before West Ham take it over. The League Cup Final in front of 342 had been a 9-1 rout of Bowers & Pitsea with Reece Cosson scoring five.

12.05.1976, 897 fans turn out for a 6.30pm kick off league game at the Larkins home of Brentwood to play Billericay Town and the reason was the signing by the home side of the legendary Jimmy Greaves. The score was 0-4.

13.05.1989, Brightingsea United won their first of successive Championships beating Sawbridgeworth Town 4 1 in front of 221.

14.05.1977, Billericay Town met Bowers United at Basildon United’s ground in the League Cup final with a record attendance for the League of 1,375.

15.05.1985, Woodford Town Reserves win Division One 7 1 at Canvey Island. As Loughton Athletic in 1983-84 they went unbeaten in 26 matches and in 1984-85 lost only once, to Southend Manor at a snowbound Southchurch Park with an orange ball, in 36 matches. One defeat in 62 games is a league record for either division.

16.05.1985, Maldon Town win the League Championship 1 0 at Bowers United, Laurie Crossman’s 40th minute header securing victory in front of 250.

17.05.1986, A 400 plus crowd at Rosemary Lane, Halstead saw Ford United lift the League Challenge Cup 1 0 against Coggeshall Town who were bottom of the league. It was an 18th minute own goal that did the damage. On the same day, Witham Town won 9 1 at Eton Manor.

18.05.1974, Danny Westwood of Billericay Town played before before taking on a Football League career with Queens Park Rangers and Gillingham.

19.05.2005, Waltham Abbey travelled to Griffin Park, Brentford to beat Ruislip Manor in the Millennium Cup in front of 421.

20.05.1972, Witham Town, the League Champions played Essex and Suffolk Border League Champions, Eastern Gas in the J T Clark Memorial Trophy but lost 1-2.
