Bin Knives Saves Lives - Raising Awareness

By Michelle Dorling

Through education and signposting, we aim to help our partner to make our communities safer environments for all

Thank you to everyone who participated in the dedicated Bin Knives Saves Lives weekend across the league.

The video messages were extremely powerful and were viewed by over 25,000 - spreading a very important message through our platform.

As a football league, this campaign was something outside of our comfort zone, 'What do we know about knife crime?'

We may not have all the answers, but from a human perspective, we can understand the loss that devastates a community when someone looses a loved one, friend, colleague or team mate through knife crime.

Sometimes the news portrayal of some far off place of a knife attack, makes us feel like it won't affect us, that it's happening somewhere else but in reality, it's happening here in our backyard!

The attached graphic is a small indication of the level of knife crime in our area, and we owe it to those who have fallen victim to knife crime to make a difference to make all our futures safer.

Through our partnership with Bin Knives Saves Lives Redbridge, we are looking to make a positive change.

Bin Knives Saves Lives Redbridge's aim is to 'Educate young people and the community of the consequences of carrying knives.'
