THEY DONT MAKE THEM LIKE REG ANYMORE

Although we hadn't been in contact for a few years, I was deeply saddened when I was informed of the passing of former Eton Manor Chairman, Reg Curtis.

Reg deserves to be remembered as someone who truly loved his club, serving them loyally and generously, over 50 years boy & man from playing to owning, through thick & thin, he cared for the club that was his passion.

He kept 'Manor' going through extreme adversity, roaming the county through numerous groundshares from their East end roots to as far a field as Burnham.

By rights it should have been them in the Olympic stadium.

Reg did it all with a smile & for the genuine love of the club & the game, often with his side-man, Alex.

I'm pleased I got to know him & if I can only be 50% of the club servant he was I will know I have done well rest in peace Reg.

Reg was a Life Member of Essex Senior Football League, a devoted football-man, someone who played, and scored for Eton Manor aged 52!

Reg's funeral will take place on Tuesday 28th April, 12.30pm at Forest Park Cometary & Crematorium, Forest Road, IG6 3HP.
