FOOTBALL INSOMINACS

FOOTBALL INSOMINACS.

I don't think im alone ,despite a lifetime following football & 18 years as a chairman in perhaps being amazed at how it is still so easy to suffer sleepless nights following or prior to a match. Last season for myself based on results was the hardest & therefore longest feeling in all my time being involved in the game i love, defeat upon defeat led to a sickening feeling not only as games approached at the feat of getting relegated, to the then sinking feeling of reality & once again insomnia at yet another dismal result, but amazingly I think the extremely few times we did actually get a positive result the act of trying to fall asleep was actually worse whether that was the hope that we might turn things around or that i had actually forgotten how to feel following a win , which is what i think they mean when they say its the hope that kills you.
Then when you have had a successful season the closer it gets to achieving your aims there is the excited nervous type of anxiety that creeps in as you preview in your mind the following days possible outcome.
Its funny how not matter how long you have been involved those feelings never ever going away its amazing the power of football has its one of the only things that you can love & hate in equal measures yet like a drug you can't bear not to have it in your life. All of us involved with clubs, whether its seen as right or wrong, from those outside of those clubs, are doing what we think is the right thing for our clubs, thats the passion this game breeds within our souls. It doesn't matter if you have 10 fans or 10000 fans to each & everyone their club is just as important if hate it when people say oh they are only a small club with no fans who would it bother if they didnt exist well it matters to the people involved just as much as those who are involved in the world's biggest clubs & thats what makes this game so special.

Where next?
